Crosskeys brings the shop to you — fully stocked service trucks rolling out of Mansfield to meet your driver on I-99, US-15, US-6, and the back roads of Tioga County. — Our First Move

We’d Rather Fix It
Than Tow It

Plenty of companies can haul your truck to a shop. Fewer can actually repair it where it sits — and that difference is money in your pocket. Every mile towed and every hour in a shop queue is revenue lost, so getting you running again on the spot is always where we start.

— What We Fix On The Roadside

Mobile Truck & Trailer Repair,
Brought To Your Breakdown

Our service trucks carry what it takes to handle the most common reasons a rig gets parked on the shoulder — and the diagnostics to identify the ones that aren’t obvious.

Mobile Computer Diagnostics

Professional-grade scan tools brought to your location to read fault codes and pinpoint engine, emissions, transmission, and ABS issues — identified right, not guessed at.

Air & Brake Systems

Brake chambers, air lines, and air leaks are among the top reasons a truck gets stranded. We carry the parts and know-how to seal your air system and get your brakes safe to roll.

Hydraulic Hoses

A blown hydraulic hose doesn’t have to mean a tow. We build and replace hoses on-site to get your truck or equipment back in operation.

Commercial Truck Tires

Roadside changes, repairs, and replacements for steers, drives, duals, and trailer axles — mounted and torqued to spec so your wheels are safe for the highway.

Jumpstarts & Batteries

Dead batteries are one of the most common — and quickest — fixes with the right equipment. Jumpstarts, pull-starts, and battery replacement to get your engine turning over.

Lockouts & Fuel Delivery

Locked out of the cab, or run dry between exits? We get your driver back in and fueled up and moving again — without a tow.

Trailer Repairs

Air, electrical, and lighting problems that put a trailer out of service — handled roadside wherever we can, so your load keeps moving.

One Call Does It All

Repair and towing under one roof means one dispatcher, one contact, and one bill — no waiting on a second company if the job changes.

— Why It Matters Who Shows Up

Repair Is In Our Blood — Not An Afterthought

A lot of outfits added “mobile repair” to a towing menu. Crosskeys came up the other way around. Owner Richard “Lee” Franks, Jr. grew up in a family truck repair shop and heavy towing operation, started turning wrenches and running wreckers as a teenager, and went on to own and operate his own 15-truck fleet. So the crew meeting your driver on the shoulder isn’t a tow operator taking a guess — they’re experienced hands who understand what’s wrong with the truck and how to fix it right. Four-plus decades of doing the work is why fleets trust us to make the call between a quick roadside fix and a necessary tow.

— Where We Provide Road Service

Roadside Repair Up & Down The Corridor

We run mobile repair along the same corridor we tow: I-99 (US-15) from the New York state line at Lawrenceville south toward Williamsport, and US-6 east and west through Troy, Wellsboro, and the Tioga County communities in between. Your driver reports a breakdown by exit, mile marker, or landmark — and we bring the shop to them. See our full I-99 & US-6 service area for the towns we cover.

— Clean Billing

Billed Through Your Fleet Program

Roadside repair shouldn’t mean paperwork headaches on the shoulder. We work directly with the major fleet management companies and maintain the insurance and compliance they require, so dispatchers can run a repair call through a national account the same way they’d run a tow.

One vendor, both services, clean billing. When you call, you reach a real dispatcher who understands the urgency — no automated menus, no runaround.

When It Can’t Be Fixed Roadside, We Tow It

If a repair genuinely can’t be done safely at the scene, you’re not stranded waiting on a second company to show up. The same Crosskeys crew hooks up and tows your unit with our heavy-duty towing and recovery service — no second dispatch, no second bill from a stranger, no lost time. That’s the advantage of a company that does both.

Fast diagnosis. On-site repair. A tow only if you truly need one.

Dennis came out to tow my box truck in middle of the night when it was -11 degrees. He was friendly, talkative, and professional. The tow truck I rode in was comfortable and was a newer unit. Highly recommended these guys if you need a tow.

Mobile Truck Breakdown Repair FAQs

The questions that dispatchers and drivers ask us about truck breakdown issues.

Can you actually fix my truck on the roadside, or will I end up getting towed anyway?2026-08-26T18:38:47+00:00

Most of the time we get you rolling right where you sit. The shoulder is where we handle brakes and air leaks, hydraulic hoses, tires, batteries and jumpstarts, lockouts, fuel, trailer lights and wiring, and computer diagnostics. A tow is our last resort, not our first move — we only recommend one when a repair genuinely can’t be done safely and correctly at the scene, and we tell you that straight rather than defaulting to the hook.

What makes and types of trucks do you work on?2026-08-26T18:39:29+00:00

We’re an independent operation, not a dealer, so we work on all the major makes — Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, International — and the trailers behind them. Heavy-duty tractors, tankers, and commercial trucks are our everyday work. If you’re not sure we cover your unit, call and describe it; more often than not the answer is yes.

Do you carry parts on the service truck, or will we be waiting on a part?2026-08-26T18:40:22+00:00

Our trucks are stocked for the failures that strand a rig most often — hoses, common tires, brake chambers, air fittings, batteries, lights, belts, and filters — so a lot of repairs are one-and-done on the shoulder. If your truck needs a less common part, we’ll tell you up front what it takes to source it, so you can weigh waiting versus a tow with the full picture in front of you.

My truck got put out of service for a brake, light, or air problem — can you get it legal to roll?2026-08-26T18:41:13+00:00

Those are exactly the repairs we handle most. Brake chambers, air leaks, lights, and tires are among the top reasons a truck gets parked, and they’re often correctable right at the roadside. We get the fault fixed and your unit safe and road-legal, so your driver isn’t sitting out an out-of-service order any longer than they have to.

Do you repair trailers, or only the tractor?2026-08-26T18:41:53+00:00

Both — a load doesn’t move if the trailer’s down. We handle trailer air, electrical, and lighting problems roadside wherever we can, right alongside the tractor. If it’s something bigger, we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a roadside fix or a tow to the shop before anyone’s left waiting.
